Discover the trends, materials, and innovations that are redefining interior design: the exclusive perspective of Groppo Arredamenti, straight from Milano Design Week 2025
Milano Design Week 2025 confirms itself once again as the most influential international stage for interior design and professional furnishings. An event that, between the Salone del Mobile and Euroluce, set the guidelines for the future of furnishings, materials, and lighting, offering valuable insights for architects, designers, and HORECA professionals.
Always attentive to market evolution, Groppo Arredamenti gathered the most relevant innovations to inspire its clients and strengthen its positioning as a benchmark in custom-made furnishings.
Light and matter: the new frontiers of lighting
Euroluce 2025 showcased a true revolution in lighting design, focusing on solutions that combine aesthetics and functionality. The most interesting trends? The creative and refined use of materials such as glass and steel, capable of enhancing sinuous, lightweight, and modern shapes. Curved lines, enveloping structures, and precisely calibrated light play dominated this year’s aesthetics, with particular attention to the emotional component of light.
Dynamic, adjustable, and smart lighting is therefore confirmed as a protagonist both indoors and outdoors, offering new customization possibilities for public venues, bakeries, pastry shops, and next-generation bars.

Finishes in dialogue between past and future
In the heart of the Salone, among the wide range of proposals, we closely observed the evolution of materials. Steel continues to be a strong presence, confirming what was seen in the previous edition. But what struck us most was the variety of resins used to amplify the materiality of objects and the increasing use of glass, explored in all its forms: colored, satin, sandblasted, smoked, and film-coated in increasingly sophisticated variations.
Unexpected returns were also noted: iconic materials from the ’80s and ’90s such as high-gloss lacquer and transparent varnished burl wood made a comeback in a contemporary key, evoking vintage atmospheres revisited with taste and innovation.

Sustainable and innovative materials: The future of furniture
Compared to previous years, there has been a collective maturity in addressing the themes of reuse, recycling, and the circular economy. Less greenwashing, more awareness. Companies seem to have embraced the environmental urgency more concretely, offering realistic solutions and production processes genuinely geared towards sustainability. One standout was the section of Superstudio on Via Tortona — dedicated to innovative components — where we saw materials and objects of various kinds and origins, almost all made from processing waste. The variety in performance, shapes, and colors allows, through in-depth study and expert use, the development of thousands of unique and high-performing objects.

Technology and Customization: Metal 3D Printing
Among the most surprising innovations, metal 3D printing stands out as a key technology for prototyping and producing custom-made furniture elements. A solution that enables the creation of complex, customized, and highly efficient forms, meeting the needs of architects and designers seeking uniqueness, precision, and durability in their projects. An opportunity that Groppo Arredamenti is already exploring, to offer clients increasingly tailor-made and innovative solutions.
